I am a teacher in florida, We are told the same thing, this was thrown at us a lot in the ethics classes in college.

My point exactly about things. Not every convicted child molester is a real child molester. Our teen girls and boys today are not at all like the girls back in the 40's they look older, they are wiser on the sex issues and they try to use it. However, the girls in the 40's were marrying men in their mid 20's to early 30's at ages of 14 and 15. It is almost like society has pushed for teens to grow up sooner, and yet at the same time try to keep them children longer. Not sure If that will make sense to everyone.

Don't get me wrong there are many people out there that are in their teens that are be forcibly raped by fathers, step fathers, mothers, step-mothers, brothers, sisters etc... and even strangers. anything of this nature that is not welcomed or consensual is out of the question for anyone.

My thoughts on this and hope i don't offend anyone with this thought, but it seems to be a modern day lynching of sorts. Back in the slavery days, you were accused and hung just by the color of your skin for just about anything. Today if a person under 18 is involved with a older person, 9 times out of 10 the older person is going to be charged with child molsetation. Just look at the watchdog sexual offender sight, those dots are everywhere and more and more being added daily.

Okay will get off my soap box, but i can't express enough we can't believe everything we read as truth. We should however be causious and do some research on our own before we sit in judgement and actually it is not our place to judge but God's. Its our place to be wise, and informed for the protection of our children.

Empty Nest This Week

my eight year old went to camp today for a week.

my son is still here with me but i'm not handling it as well as i thought.

I have split custody so it's not like she's with me every second anyway

I have dual custody with my ex, I have the children for one week, then he gets them for the next. When him and I first seperated he would only let me have them every other weekend, that was 4 years and 4 months ago and to this day I still cry every other week when kids go to their dads, yes I know I need the break some days but that may be for an hour or two then I am back missing the fighting, messing up the house. I just think that some moms are just that bonded to their children, while others take another view of it being a much needed break. Neither is wrong in the way they feel.

the Power of Prayer?

i was reading through the 'why i hate god' thread', and reflecting on my own experience with prayer.

i think the one most... relieving?

point was when i realized that i when i prayed i wasn't really trying to talk to jehovah, but i was talking myself through my own life.

Then explain the fact that you have 4 hungry children at home with not a dime in your pocke, and you get angry, and YELL ( and yes sometimes in my praying I yell) GOD are you reallly there, do you hear me, how can YOU knowing all allow this to happen? Then i do pray God I need a miracle, I ask this of you through Christ Jesus or son. and when I get home in the mail box was a card from a person I have never met in person but knows of me and she sent a card saying she felt led of the lord to send me encouragment and a 100.00. I had not told anyone that I had needed money to feed my kids.

Another Example, is my daughter that is waiting for the double lung transplant, I have many people around the world praying for my daughter, At first I was too angry to pray and acutally scared to death if I prayed for her to be okay then she would die. My ex and I had just seperated 5 months before she was diagnosed and I was feeling guilty for asking him for a divorce and having being the one that took the step and move out. I do pray for my daughter now, but the prayer I pray is not for her to be healed, the prayer I pray is that God's Will be done in her life and the rest of the family. I pray for the doctors that are giving her many hours of care and studying her case. A lot of times when I pray I pray speaking in tongues ( Yes I belive in this) I belive that praying through the Holy Spirt helps to get our selfish thoughts out of the way. The doctors say my daughter is a walking Miracle, she should not have lived through the night the day she was put in the hospital July 31, 2002. She was in the hospital for 10 months, During that time I one day I cried out to God and said GOD where is the miralce and God revealed to me that The miracle was that she was ALIVE, she was not on a respirator, and she did not need to carry around an oxygen tank. When the doctors were able to get her on the right medications and get her stable she got out and continues to live a pretty normal life ( well one better than being confined in a hospital) Sure there are limiations to what she can do now however she is living.

Can i answer the question why other parents have lost their children and they prayed too NO, can I say that my daughter will live to be my age? NO reality is that she won't according the information we are getting from the doctors, because you see Lung transplant is not a cure for her disease just a prolongment of her life and the predicted length docs give is a 1 to 5 year probablity.

Prayer is very real to me, As is God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If this is what gets me and my children through life daily then so be it. Not pushing my beliefs on anyone just know that this is what I feel right with, and that is the important key here to me.

i know i have posted before about watch tower publications, however most of the help there directed me to ebay and other things for old copies, what i am looking for are the current copies.

here is why, most of you know that i am not a jw and am in a long distance relationship with a jw, (see other posts) he knows that i am on this site getting information along with the the watchtower site itself.

the other day we got on the religion subject again, and i asked him about the watchtower site and their using words to make things look worse than they were, right away he felt i was looking at the negative side of the jw.

Thanks for the information, What ever happens with us will be a long term thing because of the our children. He is not willing to move to florida because of his daughter and I am not willing to move to his state because of mine. Until they are 18, so that is where this is for now, and just taking one day at a time, I don't see a need for a rushing into things, and that is why i am taking as much time as I need to do my research on this stuff.

Thanks All, I live in an apartment complex that has a no soliciting rule, SO they never come in here, So Maybe I should ask if they would meet me at a netural location ( like the mcdonalds just up street from the kingdom hall) and then tell them when I have had time to go over the materials that I will call back if i have any questions. WE have possible tropical system coming toward florida, guess it would not be nice to ask them to meet me in the middle of all that huh? LOL sorry was just a funny thought I had to see just how dedicated they were.

You have to remember that not all charged with this is actually guilty of the offense. I now personally know 4 people who have been charged with rape, and such because they were with someone that was under 16 and they were over 18. They were all consenual sex and some was not even the actual act but just fondling. They are all now registered Sexual Offenders and their faces and information is posted every where. One of the cases the guy met the girl at a bar, they started dating, and well when he went to break it off and she was pissed so she turned him inf tha is when he ound out she was 15 . Or you have 15 year olds dating older guys and the parents find out or suspect and then they turn a person in just because they don't like the guy their daughter chose to go out with. I understand that there are probably many more cases out there that are the opposite, and the older guys are seducing the younger girls, however there are many teens today that know exactly what they are doing male or female.

By the way I don't agree with the Florida Laws, what happens too much in Government, is they don't do what they should to begin with so then they go to over kill and lump everybody in the same boat. SO wrong. Theres should be different degrees, and each one should be evaluated the reason behind the charges. Someone Who Preys ( searches out )young Children and forces themself on a person or those that search for child porn Is way more dangerous and a mence to our society than someone who is just out dating, and things get hot and heavy. Sure they should be using their heads, but Some just don't and end up paying for a mistake for the rest of their life along with their family and friends.

Just my 2 cents.

The other day we got on the religion subject again, and I asked him about the Watchtower site and their using words to make things look worse than they were, Right away he felt I was looking at the negative side of the JW. I understand his thinking in this. He has asked me to go and meet with someone from the local kingdom hall here in Florida, and ask them the questions I have, I told him that a lot of the questions I have will have no answers however, I have decided I will at least do this. I would like to be able to have some of the recent Watchowers so that I might highlight articles and the questions I have about them. I am not trying to get him out of his religion, as I have stated before, I am just trying to show him why I can't join in this organization from my beliefs. I know with some of you this will sound crazy but my thinking on this is, I am in love with this guy who adores his daughter and parents ( his father is an OS) If he is DA or Df'd then his daughter and parents are then angry at me not him, for taking him away, that is not my purpose. I have told him this on many occassions. I told him to look at it this way, If I were to join the JW, and stopped with my beliefs, my children, my parents and siblings would be angry at him for getting me into a religion that shuns them and their beliefs it goes both ways. Here is where my beliefs and Faith and a lot of Prayer comes into play. It has to be GOD, JESUS and the power of the HOLY SPIRIT that will take the step to get him out if that is what is mean to be NOT ME.

So can anyone help? Is there a way the current Watchtowers could be scanned and a put on the board here somewhere for those of us not able (worthy because we are worldy christians) to get? Just a thought.
